This program leverages the world-class cities of Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia to understand sustainable cities, the benefits and challenges of tourism, economic development, politics, history, culture, and soccer. The program begins May 18, 2026, in Lisbon, Portugal, and ends July 3, 2026, in Valencia, Spain.

Over seven weeks in Portugal and Spain, students combine academic courses with numerous immersive cultural and gastronomical experiences, gaining insight into how culture and politics drive change at local and global levels.

Spend your summer exploring four of Europe’s most dynamic cities – Valencia, Lisbon, Madrid, and Barcelona – while earning up to 12 credits. The program combines classroom learning with immersive cultural experiences, giving you the chance to study politics, culture, economics, and sustainable development in real-world settings. Led by award-winning Georgia Tech faculty, the Valencia Summer Program blends rigorous academics with unforgettable travel and cultural immersion.
